‍ ‍The Sydney Cardiovascular Symposium Rising Star Awards are presented to EMCRs (including PhD students) who have made significant contributions to biomedical, clinical, or public health research in the cardiovascular field. Three finalists will be selected and invited to give a 20-minute presentation during the Rising Stars session on Friday the 30th of October 2026.

To apply for a Rising Star Award please do the following: ‍ ‍

• Register for the Symposium

• Submit an abstract using the secure Oxford Abstracts link above‍ ‍

• Send a 2-page CV and a cover letter describing your research discoveries and contribution to your field to CVSymposium@georgeinstitute.org.au (pdf or word doc files accepted).

Applications will be independently assessed by members of the Symposium Steering Committee or, in the case of a conflict of interest, by other senior faculty at the organising institutions.
